What, we have been here over a Year !!!!

Well it has been almost three months since the last blog post, man how time flies.

So a quick catch up. In that time we had a new missionary couple, Elder and Hermana Maw arrived to help here at the temple. The Roesberrys went home. Another couple was scheduled to arrive in mid August but because of an unexpected health issue they are unable to come at this time.

We traveled to Utah in July to visit our newest grandson Emmitt,

and the rest of the family : ) This brings us to three grandsons.

We attended the temple missionary training while back in Utah. Did some more family history research and found out who my Great Great Grandfather and Mother were and found all of their siblings names. Although we went "home", it felt more like a visit, and we didn't didn't really feel like we were home until we got back to Oaxaca. Because this is where we are supposed to be at this time in our life.

We returned in time to attend the Guelaguetza, a huge Oaxacan dance festival every year in July.

And of course we have been very busy serving in the temple.

Here are some pictures of OUR temple : )

I promised to post pictures of our new home and so here they are.

Our front door and pics of the "gated" community we live in.

The living room.

The kitchen and laundry room.

The stairs, upstairs bath and spare bedroom/office.

And finally the master bedroom.

We have also visited several new little pueblos around Oaxaca and have visited a few more ruins in the area. This is a wonderful little valley that is rich in culture and tradition. The only "tradition" we really don't appreciate is the use of bloqueos to protest a point. When protesters shut down all the grocery stores close to you for four days it is frustrating.

However the little issues don't even come close to outweighing the beauty and peace we feel while serving here. We love the people, the area and especially the food !!!

Most of all we loving serving the people and serving the Lord. God Bless you all.

Elder and Hermana DeWolf
